LEDtronics Inc. recently launched a new series of light emitting diode (LED) corn bulbs that offer increased energy efficiency. Unlike traditional technologies, such as halogen and incandescent light bulbs that consume up to 400 watts of energy, the new LED series has the capability to emit to 6,300K of pure-white illumination using no more than 120 watts, which is equivalent to 15,600 lumens. Its reduced energy consumption directly correlates with its design, which bypasses the ballast, a system used in fluorescent lighting that regulates currents required to operate a lamp. The design also includes an omni-directional feature that radiates light beyond 360 degrees.
The series was created for use in existing light sockets meaning consumers will not have to endure expensive electrical upgrades to use these new bulbs. Additionally, these products have the ability to operate under alternative and renewable energy resources, like wind and solar power.
